SOMMELIER

Job Description

Objective
To curate and manage the wine and beverage experience by providing expert recommendations, ensuring proper wine service, and maintaining an exceptional level of knowledge and presentation that enhances the overall dining experience and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recommend wines and beverages to guests based on menu selections, preferences, and pairing principles.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and service of wines in accordance with established standards.
  • Present and serve wines professionally, following service etiquette and quality guidelines.
  • Maintain and update wine lists, ensuring accuracy, availability, and alignment with culinary concepts.
  • Support inventory control, cellar organization, and stock rotation.
  • Train and support service staff on wine knowledge, pairings, and service techniques.
  • Engage with guests to elevate their dining experience and address wine-related inquiries.

Experience and skills desired

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification.
  • Professional training or certification in wine, sommelier studies, or beverage management is required.
  • Previous experience as a Sommelier or in a fine dining beverage role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of wines, viticulture, wine regions, and food pairing.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and guest engagement skills.
